School will be out forever for more than 51,000 Queensland Year 12s on Friday 16 November.

Queensland Independent Schools Parents Network Executive Officer Sue Kloeden encouraged students and their families to cherish the memories of this final day.

“I’m sure the parents and carers of this graduating class will be thinking back on their child’s first day at school and marvelling at how far their sons and daughters have come and how much they’ve grown and learned,” Ms Kloeden said.

“This can be an emotional time for mums, dads and carers who’ve been at the sides of these young people, encouraging and supporting them through all the highs and lows of growing up and going to school,” she said.

“I hope all graduates celebrate the end of school safely and that they use the foundation school has given them to launch confidently into the next phase of their lives.”

Accessing Final Results

Final Year 12 results, including Overall Position (OP) scores, will be made available in student online learning accounts from 9am on Saturday 15 December.

Students will need their Learner Unique Identifier (LUI) and password to log in and check their results online at the Student Connect Website.

If students or parents are unsure of these details they need to contact their school as soon as possible, before the school year ends.

The Future is Bright

Independent Schools Queensland Executive Director David Robertson wished the graduating class of 2018 every success for the future, particularly the 11,000 Year 12s from independent schools.

Mr Robertson also thanked school principals, teachers, staff and families for their efforts in supporting the students at every step of their 12-year education journey.

“Whatever path students decide to take after school, they should feel proud of achieving this important milestone in their lives,” he said.

“Both students and families can also take confidence from successive surveys of Queensland Year 12 graduates which confirm that the overwhelming majority of school leavers are either in education, training or employment six months after finishing school.”
